Skills
In solo and duo PvP, Frost's main goal is to kite your opponent if they have the same or higher IP. If the IP is lower, the goal is to not let the victim go.
The use of the first Q is very situational, as it is very difficult to hit a moving opponent.
The second Q is also hard to hit and has a short range.
- We recommend using the third Q - it is easy to hit due to its area of effect damage and it also slows down by 20% when hit. It does less damage than the first, but is easier to hit.
- Always blink on W to run away or catch up. You can also use an instant damage ult with courses, crossbow, bloodletting, etc.
The other W's are less effective.
- E Chilling Howl creates a small radius field that slows all enemies around it. If the target is an ally, they are instantly frozen for 2 seconds. If the target is an enemy, they will be frozen for 2 seconds after 1.1 seconds if they do not leave the field in time. Frozen targets are immune to damage and healing. Once frozen, the crystal will explode, dealing damage to all enemies within the field radius.
There is also a 1 in 100 chance that no damage will be dealt to an enemy after the crystal explodes. This is not mentioned in the description, but it happens.
- From the passives, we always take the first one, which immobilises the enemy for about 1.5 seconds for every third normal hit. We need this to rush players.
Builds for solo and duo Darkness
Any kind of boots that allow you to run around and hit, such as Valour boots, as they give more IP due to the artefacts they are made from, plus a defensive passive.
Killer Jacket - Gives you 7 seconds of invisibility and increases your damage by 4% every 0.5 seconds while invisible. Accumulates up to 10 times. If you take damage or move 15 yards from where the invisibility is applied, you will come out of invisibility. Priority is always passive on cd.
In twilight, it's every man for himself, so there can be several enemies at once. Wearing a jacket while invisible will help you avoid a merciless brawl. Or if someone else decides to join your fight to finish you off.
In your left hand, either a fog call to reduce your KD or a torch to reduce your KD and attack speed. The torch will be more useful as it gives you 2 stats at once and its KO reduction is not much less.
Undead Cloak will be good as an extra safety net. Another invisibility can save your life more than once. Activates invisibility for 6 seconds when your health drops below 15%.
- For a solo blink, take the Cloak of Purity. Shoots a beam from 18 metres, interrupting enemy spells and dealing intermittent damage for 2 seconds. Fits perfectly on the Dragon. Casts a passive on damage.
- For Duo Darkness, either Hood of Purity or Hood of Azure. The latter buffs damage by 15% for 4 seconds and cloaks enemies within a 6m radius. If the target has less than half its HP, its damage resistance is reduced.
You can also use Purification against one-shot builds. Always go for the passive on the CP.
Consumables
Omelette or fried eel, depending on your finances.
T7 Omelette increases skill recovery by 10.8%. This is a budget option.
T8 Swamp Eel Roast gives a lower buff cp but increases damage. This is the best choice for Frost, but the price is a bit high, so you can replace it with T6 Redwater Eel Roast or Omelette.
Potions for solo and duo Darkness
You should have at least 3-5 different potions in your backpack.
Leave the potion slot empty so that you can throw the right potion at the right time, as you can't change potions once you're in combat.
In your backpack you will find several potions of 1 unit each. Choose the one you need, use it and the slot will be empty again.
Health potion for healing, invisibility potion for running away.
Cleansing potion only for Duo Darkness. Recommended to take from 5 tyr. Removes all control effects and grants immunity to all control effects for 2 seconds.
Energy Potion. In addition to restoring mana, it increases the speed of skill regeneration by 9-30% for 7 seconds, depending on the tyr of the potion. We swap them to quickly roll boots and blink to catch up with the victim.
Poison potions are swapped to rush the victim or to kill the enemy as quickly as possible.
Build for Corruptors
Unlike Darkness, this is one-on-one PvP and it is better to win the XP exchanges.
The Cultist's Mantle heals for 7% of maximum health and 5% of maximum mana for 4.5 seconds. Increases damage resistance depending on the type of cloak. You can heal yourself a bit by running away from your opponent so they can't interrupt you from casting the cape.
In your left hand you can cast Mist Call for a cooldown.
Any last boots.
Choice of Purity Cap or Hunter's Hood. The hunter's hood increases resistances and reflects 85% of incoming damage for 3 seconds. The Purity Hood is for those who prefer to kite, while the Hunter Hood is for more aggressive play.
Lumhrust town cape to keep your mana up.
From consumables, omelettes or fried eel.
And also health potions.
HCE Build.
HCE is pve content where the Damagers have to kill stationary mobs in the area. They do not touch us, except for AOE skills flying in all directions. So we need a maximum damage build, and survivability can be neglected.
Place the following skills on the chilling howl:
Q - second to hit the area.
W - fourth to also hit the area and reduce damage resistance.
Passive - the third for spell reading speed to cast the second Q faster.
Mobs can switch from tanking to damaging when they do a lot of damage. That's why we need persistence boots, which give you 1 second of invisibility to cancel your aggro priority on mobs.
Royal Jacket is a small radius carpet that buffs damage to up to 6 allies and speeds up their spellcasting.
King's Hood to make sure you don't run out of mana.
Grave Candle gives a bonus to magical and physical abilities and reduces your defence.
Morgana's Cloak is a good second Q boost. It activates when you press E. It buffs your casting speed and attack speed.
Omelette for cp and casting speed and energy potions to replenish mana.
About staff instability
Apart from the fact that you can jump out of E with many Q and W skils, or run out on boots, sometimes the staff can simply not freeze or not do damage. There are questions to the developer.
So also in the meta now bloodpusses and staves. At frost they are extremely hard to kill because of their inadequate mobility.
Staff power
The staff has high potential kite thanks to E, which makes it possible to kill opponents who have more IP in a non-contact fight, reclining skill on the retreat.
Tricks and mechanics
You can freeze your opponent with a blink to make it impossible to jump out of E or dodge. You need to stand almost in the opponent's model, press the E and immediately blink under him, thus stunning him for about 1.5 seconds.
The rider will have time to run out of the E field, but if you put a passive on 2 out of 3 hits on mobs and manage to do it within 15 seconds, before 2 stacks are not asleep, then this hit will freeze the rider for 1.5 seconds and then he will not have time to run out of the E field and will freeze.
